A crushing plant can process construction waste, but only when the line is built around the material: mixed concrete, brick, mortar

Construction waste is not one material. A demolition load mixes concrete blocks, brick, mortar, ceramics, soil, timber, gypsum board and steel reinforcement, and the proportion changes from one truck to the next. A crusher can reduce that feed, but only if the plant is built around the mixture rather than around the crusher alone. The first duty of the line is preparation: an industrial apron feeder meters the load evenly, and a hydraulic waste shredder reduces oversized pieces that would otherwise bridge in the feed opening.
Separation follows reduction. Rebar and other ferrous scrap must be pulled out before or after the first stage, which is why an industrial self-discharging magnetic separator sits in the flow. Light fractions such as timber, plastic and paper are lifted out by a negative pressure air separator with frequency conversion, while a trommel screening machine and an industrial high-frequency composite screen split the flow by size. Where the output has to meet a tight recycled-aggregate specification, an AI sorting robot and an intelligent high-speed optical sorter remove the remaining contaminants.
The reduction stage itself has to tolerate a highly variable feed. A DC series high efficiency european jaw crusher handles the first reduction of hard concrete and rock, while a large-diameter hydraulic impact crusher or a PFW European impact crusher produces a cubical recycled aggregate. The trade-offs are abrasion, dust and moisture: reinforced concrete wears the working parts faster than natural rock, and wet material blinds screens. Selection therefore starts from the waste composition, the required output grading and the site layout, not from a nominal capacity figure.
